Applying Professional Scrum

Applying Professional Scrum (APS) is for those new to Scrum or who need to learn more about Scrum roles, artifacts and events. Think of it as Scrum 101 and beyond. This class is not about reading from a book or memorizing terms. You’ll participate in the learning by using Scrum in a controlled environment. True learning comes from experience.

Who’s it for: Developers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, managers and leaders.  It’s an ideal class for your team to take together.

Professional Scrum Master

Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is for Scrum Masters who want to get an understanding of the principles behind the Scrum framework.  PSM covers the principles and empirical process theory underpinning the mechanics, rules, and roles of the Scrum framework. This class goes beyond the basics. As a Scrum Master, you’ll understand the ‘why’ behind the Scrum framework. It’s a powerful class that asks hard questions and arrives at answers through hands-on learning that’s practical and immediately applicable. 

Who it’s for: Scrum Masters seeking to improve team effectiveness and productivity.

Professional Scrum Facilitation Skills

Professional Scrum Facilitation Skills (PSFS) is an interactive course designed to help Scrum practitioners develop a facilitator’s mindset, proficiency in facilitation skills, and learn when and how to select effective techniques for various circumstances. Strong facilitation skills enable better problem-solving, more effective Scrum events and greater team alignment, all leading to better outcomes.

Who it’s for:

  • Scrum Masters and any Scrum Team member interested in learning how to use facilitation to enhance their team’s success
  • Scrum Coaches, Agile Coaches and Consultants

Professional Scrum Master II

Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) is a 2-day* advanced Scrum Master class designed to support Scrum Masters in their professional development.  The PSM II course is intended for Scrum Masters with at least one year of experience who are looking to grow their knowledge and abilities as a Scrum Master. This course is one step in that journey. The course also includes a free attempt at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) certification exam.

Who it’s for: Scrum Masters with at least one year of experience who want to grow their Scrum knowledge and abilities.

Professional Scrum Product Owner

Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO)is a hands-on, activity-based course where students explore Professional Scrum and develop an understanding of the critical role that the Product Owner plays on the Scrum Team. Throughout the class, students learn a number of Product Ownership practices that they can use once they leave the classroom while also receiving an introduction to Agile Product Management.

The course also includes a free attempt at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) certification exam.

Who it’s for: Is appropriate for students in any industry where teams are working to solve complex problems. The Professional Scrum Product Owner course is for:

  • Professionals interested in starting a career as a Product Owner
  • Product Owners with some experience in the role that are looking to improve their understanding or fix their misconceptions of Scrum and the Product Owner role
  • Scrum Masters wishing to be an effective coach to Product Owners will also find valuable insights in this course

Professional Scrum Product Owner Advanced

Professional Scrum Product Owner Advanced (PSPO A) is a hands-on, activity-based course that focuses on helping experienced Product Owners and Product Managers expand their ability to establish a vision, validate their hypotheses, and ultimately deliver more value to their stakeholders. The course goes beyond the topics explored in the Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) class by deepening the attendee’s understanding of the role through the exploration of the many stances of a professional Product Owner.

Who it’s for: designed for Product Owners, Product Managers, and Business Analysts focusing heavily on Product Management skills, tools, techniques, and knowledge as part of their work on the Scrum Team. The course does not address the Scrum framework (much), and we assume people have a proper understanding of the Scrum framework. Participants should have at least one year of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, while multiple years of experience and having attended the Professional Scrum Product Owner course and passing PSPO is preferred, but not mandatory.

Professional Scrum With Kanban

Professional Scrum with Kanban (PSK) is an interactive, activity-based training course that teaches experienced Scrum Masters and other Scrum practitioners how to improve the way they work by applying Kanban practices in the context of Professional Scrum. Through theory, case studies and hands-on exercises, students will learn how Kanban practices can help Scrum Teams achieve better outcomes by improving the flow of work.

Who it’s for: Designed for experienced Scrum Practitioners who have a good understanding of Professional Scrum and a desire to learn how to implement Kanban practices with their Scrum Teams. Ideally, attendees have read the Kanban Guide for Scrum Teams and have passed the Scrum Open assessment.

Professional Agile Leadership Essentials

Professional Agile Leadership Essentials (PAL-E) is a hands-on, activity based class in which managers and leaders of agile teams gain a strong understanding of how to best support, guide, and coach their teams to create the conditions for great agility.

Who it’s for: Designed for managers and those in leadership roles who are responsible for the introduction and establishment of Agile methods and techniques in an organization.

Professional Agile Leadership Evidenced-Based Management

Professional Agile Leadership Evidenced-Bassed Management (PAL-EBM) framework which is an Agile approach to help leaders guide their teams toward continuously improving customer outcomes, organizational capabilities, and business results. EBM focuses on customer value and intentional experimentation to systematically improve an organization’s performance and achieve their strategic goals. 

Who it’s for: professionals in leadership roles (including executives, managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, coaches, and consultants)
